(416) 295-2318 With the release of her novel collection, the Urban Toronto Tales, Toronto-born author Stacey Marie Robinson is poised to carve out a unique position for herself as the literary voice of urban Canadians. While her stories represent universal tales of relationships and the individual journey towards self-understanding, Stacey hopes that her novels will also be used as a means of facilitating discussion and critical thinking amongst Canadian youth about the choices they make every day.
Video Light and the other Urban Toronto Tales provide examples of isolated but familiar events. Readers have the opportunity to enjoy the story, take away lessons they can apply to their lives, and know that their experiences are recognized, acknowledged and supported, said Stacey.
Her passion for the media and communication arts led her to the University of Windsor where she served as the Features Editor of the student newspaper, The Lance, and received a B.A. in Communication Studies. Stacey continued her study of communications, and received her M.A. in Communications from Wayne State University (Detroit), where she also served as the News Editor of the student newspaper, The South End.
Stacey lives and works in Toronto and continues to write novels for the Urban Toronto Tales collection through her publishing company Kya Publishing, founded in 2007.
She is currently enrolled in the Publishing Program at Ryerson University, teaches piano through her business Robinson Music & Urban Books,
and is a board member of the Urban Music Association of Canada (UMAC United).
